Classroom Safety Series Provides safety topics that challenge fleets everyday. All New Items!Back to product listing

Drivers don’t think solely about their driving every moment they are behind the wheel. Experienced drivers rely on habits they have developed over time to help them navigate their driving world.

Changing driving habits is no easy task. In order to change a habit, it is first necessary to be conscious of what you are doing and how you are doing it. Drivers may require assistance recognizing the changes they need to make. Our training programs are designed to make drivers aware of faulty driving habits so that they can begin to change them. We have created the Classroom Safety Series to help reinforce your training investment and assist your drivers in their efforts to change habits.

This series provides your meeting leaders with a short, powerful message on specific safety topics that challenge fleets every day.

Each Meeting includes Visual Support with a PowerPoint Presentation; this same CD contains files for Transparencies, Presentation Notes, Leader Guide, Quiz, and the Answer Key. A Video production is offered as VHS or DVD, an Arrive Alive Brochure as a handout for the driver’s future reference is also included. This growing list of hot Safety Focus Meetings topics includes:

Proper Positioning in Traffic
The keys to safe
lane change and merging

Space is a valuable commodity wherever you find it. On the road it
can be the single ingredient that keeps you safe and free from danger.
Intelligent vehicle positioning, while moving in the traffic flow
especially when changing lanes and merging can reduce risk and the

The Keys to Proper Following Distance
Proper use of The Smith 5 Keys is dependent on this knowledge

No single element is more important to safe driving than adequate following distance. Yet the mere suggestion of maintaining space in front of the vehicle invites ridicule and rejection from most drivers, particularly those whose jobs are regulated by time constraints.
This presentation clearly and effectively addresses the concern of lost time while emphasizing the danger inherent with insufficient space in
front of their vehicle.

Avoiding a Backing Incident
Proven techniques for avoiding the most common collision

Statistically, the average driver spends a maximum of one percent of
their driving time in reverse. But for most organizations backing incidents are at the top of their reportable and avoidable incidents. Through proper use of The Smith 5 Keys, drivers will have the knowledge necessary to turn backing collisions into rare events. Quality information and student participation are the benchmarks of this excellent program.
