Smith System, the leader in professional driver training, today announced an innovative new video course entitled Compass Maneuvering™. The 21-minute video promotes innovative collision avoidance techniques when backing and maneuvering in close quarters. The course’s name, Compass Maneuvering™, is based on principles that are easy to remember and apply. A compass has four directions – North, East, West and South – NEWS. Remembering to constantly be aware of the NEWS around your vehicle can help you avoid accidents: “The one thing that is common in every accident is human error,” said Frank Powers, Smith System Vice President of Sales. “This video teaches drivers how to increase their awareness of what is happening in all four directions around their vehicle at all times.” The Compass Maneuvering™ “truck version” is the latest video course introduced in SmithMedia™, Smith System’s extensive training course library. It can be ordered on-line from the company’s website (www.smith-system.com) or by calling (800) 777-7648 and is available in both VHS and DVD formats. A “small vehicle” version of the course will also be available in the future. About Smith System
